Properly Plan Your Amsterdam Trip Around Public Transport
Are you getting ready for the family vacation of a lifetime? Maybe this is a solo vacation that you have always wanted to treat yourself to. Then again, maybe you have a business venture taking place in Amsterdam and that is why you are going. Either way, it is important to make sure that you are doing whatever possible to make sure that you are planning out all possible details. This way, you will be able to say that you have truly made the most of your time in Amsterdam. After all, isn't enjoying yourself every minute possible is what the vacation plan is all about.
Now, most people would assume that this means researching all of the different places that they want to visit, such as museums, monuments or historical locations. While this is certainly a big part of the vacation planning process, it is not the only important part. You want to make sure that you are properly planning just how you are going to get to all of those places. This is something that too many people completely forget about until they are at their vacation destination. Don't be one of those people.
There are actually a few different ways to travel through Amsterdam. Many visitors find that the trams are actually the most helpful when it comes to getting to all of the exciting and interesting places that they want to visit.
Now, while the trams are a very popular option - they are not the only option. Many are surprised to learn that Amsterdam actually has an underground metro system. While it may not be as big as other places, it is expanding. Right now, you have about two stops that are in the tourist areas. After that, a tourist would find a whole bunch of nothing.
There are also a lot of buses that run through Amsterdam. You might want to take advantage of some of those. The thing is though, these buses really are not going to take you anywhere that the trams won't take you. And since the trams are generally cleaner, easier to use and just plain more enjoyable, you might as well stick to the trams.

There are the night buses however. These buses stop around the midnight hour and completely take over some routes. The thing is though, they are a little on the expensive side a 3.5 euros a ride. If checking out the night life is really your thing, it might just be best to stay in a busy nightlife area and walk to the different places you want to check out.
Speaking of places to stay, you are really going to put some thought into this before you make any sort of reservations. If you want to make sure that you are truly going to be able to get the most out of your vacation to the capital of the Netherlands, you are going to want to make sure that you are positioning yourself somewhere where you are going to be close to public transport in Amsterdam. This way, you will find that you are going to be able to easily get around, without having to waste a lot of time, money or energy getting to transport locations.
