Why come to Amsterdam this summer?- Amsterdam tours.
"If you are going to Amsterdam, I will be waiting there for you, and we will go, where flowers bloom, on a sunny afternoon..."
The lyrics of this very popular song of the 60s brings back the real "feel" of the natural beauty and bewitching quality of Amsterdam. Amsterdam has been one of the most popular tourist destinations of Europe, and one can understand the reason why. Not only has it something unique and attractive for every sort of tourist, from historical buildings and museums for the scholar and architect, to beautiful parks and gardens for the tourist who has come here for rest and recuperation.

But if one comes to noting down the top 10 attractions of Amsterdam, it is a clear case of so much to do, so much to see, when one is quite spoilt for choice in this amazing historic city. So, if one does not focus upon all the top 10 attractions being tourist spots, but the activities which one can do when he is enjoying the glory that is Amsterdam instead, he is going to be better rewarded.
1) Let us explore the museums!
There are plenty of historical museums in Amsterdam, including the house where Anne Frank lived. A visit to the Rijksmuseum is a must, if only to see all the priceless old Masters!
2) Shall we try something new in fine dining?
The Dutch love to eat, so remember that dieting is to be indulged in, only when you return home. Until then, for those who enjoy fine dining, one can always try the delicious raw herring at Stadhouderskade, Volendammer Viswinkel, Raadhuisstraat, Huijsman or Altena! When you are in Amsterdam, you need to have a beer brewed at Brouwerij 't, accompanied by various assortments of cheeses bought at Wegewijs.
3) Come into the garden, Maud!
Holland without tulips and windmills is just as unimaginable an option as say the South Pole without polar bears or a barbecue without barbecue sauce, midges and steaks. For those who love gardening, you can always buy your tulips at Bloemenmarkt, (the market of flowers, what else?) or just explore the Begijnhof or the Vondelpark and have a picnic upon the grounds.
4) A night at the Opera!
Amsterdam is quite famous for its wooden puppet theater, with the puppets dressed in the costumes of ages gone past. You can enjoy works by Offenbach, and Mozart in the Marionetten Theater . Order lunch, dinner or even a high tea here with the family as the puppets sing to you of La Vie Parisienne!
5) Windmills Of The Mind!
If you do not see the 8 windmills of Amsterdam, including the most important one of them all, the De Gooyer, you would need to come back yet once again.
6) Take a trip to explore the more than 160 canals of Amsterdam.
7) Visit the historical churches
8) Take part in skating events at Thialf
9) Explore the flea markets, like the Lindenmarkt, Albert Cuypmarkt, the Noordermarkt or the Dappermarkt.
10) Listen to a hard rock session at Paradiso or Melkweg.
Many tourists are now getting into the habit of renting holiday accommodation in Amsterdam, instead of going to a hotel. Many Dutch families rent out their apartments during the holiday season to tourists. The best and most economical choice is renting a group rental.
