Amsterdam is host to some of the most popular and exciting concerts in Europe. 2012 kicks off the New Year with groups that are worth marking your calendar for.

The rock n’ roll center, Paradiso, brings Boyz II Men in Amsterdam on January 25, 2012. An American trio that takes R&B to new levels, they are recognized throughout the world, selling more than 60 million albums.

Sting will appear live at the Heineken Music Hall on February 7, 2012, bringing a creative twist to rock and roll with his passion of jazz, classical and new age music. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, his career has soared since the 1970s.

The Sugar Factory is proud to present Seether on February 26, 2012. This hot metal band is gaining momentum since the days in South Africa during 2001. Three charged band members will keep you moving and vibrating to the hot metal melodies that have earned them fame.

Rammstein can be seen live at the Ahoy Event Hall on March 4, 2012. Prepare for a night of entertaining theatrics and heavy metal sound with the 6-member German team that brings pyrotechnics of real flames for dramatization to a rough, powerful style.

If you enjoy a mixture of R&B, pop and dance, Jason Derulo will provide an artful presentation on March 14, 2012 at the Heineken Music Hall. Born to Haitian parents in the US, Derulo has been an avid songwriter and performer since the age of 5. His lead single, “Don’t Wanna Go Home” hit the number one spot in the UK last summer.

Spring comes in with a bang at the Koninklijk Theater Carre hosting Without Temptation on April 14, 2012. Originating in Waddinxveen, Netherlands, the group delivers symphonic rock that has taken them to worldwide acceptance, selling over 3 million album copies.

No one will want to miss the Prinsengracht Concert held during the Grachten Festival that runs from August 10 through 19 in the summer of 2012. This free outdoor show brings an estimated 20,000 people each year to enjoy the live classical music set beneath the stars and artificial twinkling of lights along the canal.

If you are fascinated with young classical artists, you will not want to miss Gaudeamus Music Week that takes place in September 2012. Held at Muziekgeboux aan’t I, this is an international event that brings the brightest and most talented performers less than 30 years of age to perform in concert while being judged. Over 54 countries participate in this amazing event where over 280 individuals are whittled down to 17 of the world’s most creative.
